Crane Youth Sports Battle at Sarcoxie in Saturday Slate
Crane Youth Sports football teams hit the road to Sarcoxie Saturday, where the Pirates took the field across all grade levels (K-6).
K–1 Flag Football — Coaches: Chapman, Clevenger, Dodson, McHolland. The youngest Pirates battled to a 24–24 tie. Caspen scored two touchdowns, Tyson added another, and Fletcher recorded multiple big stops on defense, including a last-second tackle to preserve the tie.
2nd Grade Flag Football — Coaches: Boatwright, Pitts, Vaught, Wise. Crane came out on top 28–12. Dax connected with Myles on a short pass that turned into a 15-yard touchdown, then added two rushing scores of his own. Myles tacked on another touchdown and snagged an interception, while Kavin and Maverick each converted a 2-point run.
3rd–4th Grade Football — Coaches: Hoffman, Langley, Moore, Pitts, Steele. The Pirates couldn’t break through Sarcoxie’s defense and fell 0–22.
5th–6th Grade Football — Coaches: Bowling, Cavener, Cypret, Hayes. Crane rolled to a 44–14 victory behind a dominant ground game from Keaton, who scored on runs of 2, 45, 40, 88, 57, and 60 yards. Logan added a 50-yard touchdown, while Pryor threw for a 2-point conversion and later picked off a pass. Defensive highlights included tackles for loss by Jagger and Finley, plus a sack from Landon.
