
Two Men Arrested After Gunfire Reported Sunday Night
Several Crane residents reported hearing a rapid series of loud pops around 7:38 p.m. on Sunday, some initially mistaking the sound for a vehicle with a flat tire before learning the noise was gunfire. No injuries were reported.
According to probable cause statements filed by the Crane Police Department, two men have been arrested and charged in the incident: Samuel Houston Medlin and Collin Dean Henry.
What Investigators Say Happened
At approximately 7:38 p.m. on November 30, 2025, witnesses reported a black Mitsubishi Endeavor driving through a neighborhood in Crane. According to the statements, both Medlin and Henry fired weapons from inside the vehicle as it passed a residence.
- Samuel Medlin, the driver, was seen pointing a handgun out his window and firing several rounds toward a residence and into the air.
- Collin Henry, the passenger, was observed pointing an AR-15 rifle out the passenger window and firing rounds toward the same residence.
Witnesses told officers they feared for their safety and for the safety of the individuals inside the home.
Investigators later recovered evidence linked to both shooters:
- At least 14 Blazer 9mm Luger casings near the area Medlin allegedly fired from
- Several spent AR-15 casings inside the Mitsubishi where Henry was sitting
- A loaded Smith and Wesson VE 9mm handgun
- A loaded AR-15 rifle
- Four boxes of Blazer 9mm ammunition and additional AR-15 ammunition inside the vehicle
Charges Filed
Both Medlin and Henry have been charged with:
- Assault in the first degree
- Unlawful use of a firearm
- Armed criminal action
Both men are being held at the Stone County Jail on a $100,000 surety bond.
Authorities credited cooperation between Crane Police, the Stone County Sheriff's Office, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol for the swift resolution of the case.
