If you’ve walked around Crane recently, you may have noticed a brightly painted rock tucked into a flower bed, sitting on a storefront ledge, or resting along a trail. These cheerful surprises are the work of the Crane Rock Hound.

The Rock Hound shares their creations on Facebook, and the colorful designs have quickly become a community favorite. Smiling faces, uplifting words, and playful patterns appear on rocks around town for neighbors to discover, enjoy, or even re-hide.

Families and kids especially love the hunt. Some keep the rocks they find, others pass them along, and many make an evening walk part of their routine just to see what’s new.

What started as a simple hobby has turned into a small tradition that brings Crane together. In a time when it’s easy to overlook the little things, the Crane Rock Hound reminds us to slow down, look closer, and find joy in unexpected places.

So next time you’re out and about, keep your eyes open - you never know where the next painted rock might appear.

If you have found any of Crane Rock Hound's painted rocks - we'd love to see them!
